Graham S
300 jobs go as Motor World stalls kevin feddy 26/ 9/2008 THREE hundred jobs were axed today after car parts and accessories chain Motor World went into administration. The Huddersfield-based group has suffered from a severe sales slump, said joint administrators Dermot Power, Graham Newton and Matthew Dunham, of Manchester accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward. As a result, they have shut 95 of Motor World's 237 shops, including ones in Bramhall, Wilmslow and Atherton. The other 142 outlets have been sold to Pacific Retail, a company funded by existing investors Bailey Capital. This has saved around 500 jobs. 'Downsizing' apparently.
