I think I'm right in saying yes you can but you'll just loose the refridgent inside so will need it regassing again.

when i mean take it out i mean bin it, weather permitting thusday-friday.

Carefull of the R12 gas its invisible and has no smell but is toxic stuff. When you cut/undo pipes do it outside or in a well ventilated area and immediatly leave the car while the gas clears.

You can remove the Aircon pump, Pump bracket, Condensor, Radiator and the pipes upto where they run into the bulkhead.

I've also removed the aircon/auxillery fan, but thats up to you, pro's and con's to that.

The main advantage is better engine cooling as the air has less restriction the the radiator. Another advantage would be a bit of weight saving.

If your car is not highly modified, and/or your not intending on using it for much track racing then there is not much point to removing to be honest.

The aux/aircon fan is the Electric fan under the nose panel that sits on the Aircon radiator. It acts as a backup/emergency fan if the vehicle overheats. I removed mine to improve airflow even further to the Main radiator but my water temperature is monitored and alarmed for high temp warnings.

Well i am taking me engine out because im rebuilding my tubs and i dont think my air con ever worked anyhow but when summer is here and im out then the roof is of so never used and whilst the car has been of the road ive fitted a different front end and yet ive still to find and fit and afford a LFMIC so the only thing i stand to lose is cold air in the summer and yet the things im yet to gain is less weight ,less trouble , more engine engine cooling more air flow.and as for the fmic looking the tits

this has crossed my mind for one of my winter projects!
