It looks like it's my turn for a bit of bad luck.

 

Can you believe that my Zed got damaged whilst on my drive!

 

Got home Friday to find a big dent into the drivers door and rear quarter panel. The impact is right where the door handle is and I can't open the door!!!

 

I couldn't quite believe what i was looking at!!!!

 

I knock on the neighbours door and they saw everything and got the car registration!! Result!!!

 

So the police have the number and will contact to say they will be prosecuting. I hope they throw the book at them.

 

I will need a new door skin and rear quarter panel. They also hit the bumper on the back and that will need replacing. Mines a 1990 2+2 Jap spec. Has anyone got experience of sourcing these panels? Problems? Contact details? All help appreciated.

Lets hope the police pull their finger out and charge the turds. I have got a complete rear bumper off my UK spec Z, its in spotless

condition. E-mail me an offer if you are interested, I could possibly bring it to the Z meet on sunday if you are in a hurry to get one.

The damage keeps getting worse. The bumper on the rear was hit too and has a deep scratch on it. So I may be interested in your bumper Simon, I may be in touch.

 

Also the impact has knackered the central locking so the passenger door does not lock now. I can't open the drivers door so have to get in on the passenger side.

 

Still, good old Admiral, the car is booked for repair on Monday and I take delivery of my new weekend toy on friday, a 193HP Caterham 7. So it going to be a good weekend!

 

It's a good job I have another nutters car to help sooth the loss of the Zed for a week or 2.

Good news on the car. A nice italian lady phoned me to apologise about the damage. She is a friend of my neighbour. The neighbour gave me some cock and bull story but I think she was shamed into telling me.

 

She says she does not remember hitting the car. (And i'm a horse!)She has a BMW X5 with proximity warning and can't understand why she did not hear the bang.

 

Be afraid, very afraid, dumb people in big cars and not in control. Good job the Caterham wasn't onm the drive it would be flat by now!!!!

 

Car is in the shop and will shortly be sporting a complete driver side respray!

 

So there you go, sometimes it does work out!
