Where would everyone reccommend i take the zed to get a few engine issues etc sorted?? I started it up yesterday and it seemed a little smokey, now the previous owner hadnt driven in ages so i dont know whether it needs fixing or just running?? Someone did mention something about 'turbo seals'??

Im also wanting it to be serviced etc and generally looked after before i put it on the road.

Run it for a while because if it's being standing for a long time it may just be condensation.

Without sounding funny, but is that all?? I only say because it'll be getting a new manifold back system before i make it road legal anyways.

Is there anyway to refurb the standard ones?? Because i remember that the car had new turbos fitted not too long ago, as it was sat on the ramps in bits the other year when i was asking to buy it then.

The turbos in theory can come off with the engine in situ, but most find it takes less time to take the engine out. That quite a job unless you can do it, (if you can grandma and sucking eggs etc)

 

It's the rear seals that go on the turbos i'm sure theres a midlands firm that do refurb them for 300-400 mark, turbo techinques ring a bell, have not used them but could be worth a try?? or you could buy the entire chra from somewhere like Z1 motorsports if your housings are in good nick, or try it yourself there isn't that much to a turbo, needs to be balanced properly tho.

I think that a overhaul is needed then. New manifolds, exhaust, re-furb turbos, and a good engine fluid flush.

 

Soooo, when funds permit, is there anyone local to bradford/leeds that could potentially want to help??
