Cam gear springs

Do cam gear springs need to be oiled?

Ive got a new set to go with the cams! When i changed them i noticed the old springs were slightly oily.

If so what oil would be best to use?

Cheers

Im pretty sure they get oil on them when the engines running anyway, thats what the seals there for.

Or I could be 100% wrong, lol.

If your on about the vtc springs they are pressure fed anyway along the camshaft. The variable timing is altered by varying the oil pressure in the hub.So just install them and the engine will do the rest.
