ok im leaving my current job, today they mega pissed me off by ****ing up my final salary and then cancelling the whole salary payment in case they overpaid me, after a lot of shouting at payroll ive got them to agree to pay me cash tomorrow once they recalculate my final pay packet, this isnt the issue though, in my contract I am contracted for 38 hrs of work and then a clause called hours as required which means you work till the job is done basically, when i first questioned this they told me it was what the company required of me as management and would not be paid for, they used this excuse to have me work above 38 hours every single damn week, it was used as a rotating saturday work schedule and a rotating late night in the week all of which was expected and not paid, seeing as I was pissed off today i called the hr department and demanded a explanation of the hours as required statement, it turns out I was misled and the extra time i worked was supposed to be given back in lieu , i told the company i am taking them to grievance over the last 3 years of being misled and they owe me over 3000 hours of time, anyone been throiugh this and have any advice, if i pull it off its worth £24k to me in unpaid time?

If you read this far well done

welcome to the world of management mate! :(

or rather, i waved goodbye to that 2 years ago when i changed career. my contract was 45 hours and 'sometimes you may be required to work extra when the job demands it' - read this as 55-65 hours extra, 3 saturdays a month, 2 sundays a month, the odd 6.30am start here, the odd 11.30pm finish there, the occasional night shift. in the end i walked away from it and never looked back
