i've replaced the top rad pipe on my tt, now obviously i've lost at least a pipes worth of coolant. so i need to top it up.

this is something i've not done for years and not ever on the zed,

do i just poor some in the radiator cap(well the hole left after taking the cap off obviously)?

how do i know when i've got enough?

how do i turn the air in the new top pipe into water or will it do it itself?

do i need to run the engine to move it round and then add more?

do i need to unscrew the plug on the top of other end of the rad

what happens if i overfill it? does itpiss on the floor, go into an overflow tank or blow up?

damn i sound new or blonde or both

yeah take off the bleed screw (other end of rad)...pour coolant into rad cap end of the rad whilst running the engine at same time....once up to temp might get a few burps etc...keep it topped up until stable...bung screw back in and cap on...check level for a couple of days etc

good lesson i learned was to jack up front off car force those air locks out with heaters on full works everytime.

put heaters on full inside the car... tbh, I'd drain, flush and re-fill the coolant - for all you know it's been in there years... having seen the state of some of the coolant pipes on my old car (in particular the 2 short pipes off the front of the engine) old coolant can allow a massive amount of corrosion to occur...

Even better, remove the radiator and fluch that properly - you'll be amazed how silted up it is!!
