Before the music really got off the ground I was (still am) an artist/sculptor. I wanted a pseudonym to sign off my work and chose Friday for 2 reasons:

 

1. A "Friday Job" is something that's put together in a rush (ie 4:55 on a Friday afternoon! ;)) and as a result doesn't quite work properly. I've had Crohn's disease since I was 12 and this kind of made sense! First read it way back in the day when I used to collect 2000AD. They reinvented the old Rogue Trooper storyline (a clone trooper bred for war...precursor to Star Wars Episode I anyone?) and gave him the name "Friday". The explanation for his very different state of self-awareness and ability to think outside the rules layed down for him was that he was a defective "Friday Job".

 

2. From Dafoe's "Man Friday". Lots of reasons!

 

And it kind of....stuck. So I carried it over to my music. My persona on stage is very different to how I am "IRL" so it aids the seperation. Er...if that makes sense and doesn't come across as overly schitzophrenic! :D
