Iv just got a H3 xenon kit but iv got those silly H3c candle bulbs in at the min.

Does anyone know how to wire the kit up? im guessing that you wire up the earth to something but im not good with electrics!

Also

The space behind the headlight is only good for a elfs hand so is it a case of taking the light out? if so HOW? I cant see how to do it inless I take my bumper off.

Thanks!

Firstly wiring should be a peice of piss, you should just need to unplug the normal bulb and push the wires from your HID kit into the connector :)

And secondly, i have big hands mate but i can manage to do it :) Taking the lights out is a BIG job, much MUCH harder than just doing it in situ!

People reckon you can take them out with the bumper on, i personally thought it was bloody hard enough with the bumper off! I would not attempt taking my lights out with bumper on in a million years, i would think it would actually be quicker to take the bumper off!

HTH :)

Have you not got instructions with the HIDS? If you do a search, there's quite a bit of info, including a wiring modification which keeps the dip beam (which will be HIDS) from going off when you flash - they don't take kindly to being rapidly turned on and off!

You can remove the headlights without removing the bumper - and the ballasts will mount under the headlights, where they would be on a 99 spec car... but you can also mount them under the nose panel... Again, if you want to remove headlights there's a write up somewhere on here, basically there's 2 bolts and 2 nuts (i think, from memory) under each unit - you can get to some by removing the indicators and the others from the nose panel - a small ratchet spanner is a god-send!

Good luck!

it's honestly a piece of piss one you've done it the first time! Much much easier than removing the bumper...

TBH i can have my bumper off in 10 minutes :D And the reason i would rather do it that way, is because of the last bolt, the one nearest the bonnet catch (if that makes sense), it is an absolute B1TCH to get off!!! Must of took me about 20 mins just to get that off and thats with the induction and MAF off!

I suppose its like anything else really, once you've done it once, its much easier the next time round :)

I know what you mean - stubby ratchet helps though... I think my problem is the last time I took my bumper off I scratched the wing and got myself so pissed off I vowed not to do it again unless I had to!! I know... if you need your lights off, I'll come and do them - and if I need my bumper off you can come and do it! haha - perfect!

Rite, ok, so im not going to take the lights out as il prob end up spashing my bumper and thats not good as iv got a 1 off paint job.

Il have a search to find a wire diagram, iv got instructions but on H3 lights there is a insulated male connector so i need to see where that goes.

There should only be two wires, and they both go in the connector that you pull off the bulb, one wire goes in one side and the other goes in the other side ;) :)

Il have another fiddle and see, im probably just being dumb.

Il let you know how it goes..........

Its just a simple plug and play to fit HID lights. No extra wiring or earthing to do. The Loom for the balasts just plug into the original headlight connector using 2 spade terminals.

You can earth one of the terminals as a modification so they they dont switch off when you flash the main beam.

great stuff, im confident!

Il conferm when iv done it or blown the car up lol.

DONE! I must have been having a mental block the other day!

Cheers guys

Excellent news, peice of piss like i said, lol :D:D:D

Yep - easy and straight forward install. One word of advise - go and get the headlight alignment checked at an MOT station. With the majority of these HID kits the beam will be aimed too high due to the HID bulb being a lot longer. Should only cost about a fiver to get it checked (if anything).

Regards,

Dan

PS - did you clean the inside of the projector lens and headlight glass? If you do then you'll find the difference even bigger when compared to stock system.

Nice on thanks, il pop them back out and give them a wipe as well as going to a mot station.

Thanks.
