I have some MP3 on CD recordable, can an ordinary CD player read these or do I need to convert???

 

If I need to convert whats the format??

Some of the latest walkman type thingies can read mp3 as well as CD.

 

But if you're trying to get to play these tracks on a CD player you already have, you will need something like Adaptec (Roxio) CreateCD or Nero - or someother CD burner s/w. I would guess if you have a CD burner, you've got something which will do the job.

Yeah, to play MP3s on CD-R you need a specific MP3/CD player (by which I mean an MP3 player that uses CD media rather than a hard drive). Some DVD players do it, but they will specifically say. I've been thinking about getting one of these cheap (relatively) Alpine S634 CD changers for the Z, since they're supposed to be MP3 compatible - anyone got any experience of them?

 

As for converting, Nero certainly does it. If you set it to burn an audio CD, dragging & dropping MP3s will automatically convert them to CD format. Adeptec I'm not so sure about - my Adeptec doesn't, but it's old & not very good :/

Adaptec does convert MP3's but the basic Adaptec version doesnt.

I have adeptec at work, but it never mentioned anything when I dragged MP3 onto the CD, so there still MP3.

 

At home I have NERO, so if I take the MP3 CD, and copy it as a CD AUDIO will it convert the MP3 tracks on one disk to CD AUDIO on the other???

leigh - with nero, create a new audio disc, drag the mp3 files to the window for the new compilation & nero will convert them to cda format - burn as normal

 

im using nero 5.5
