Mac's Knob

Mac... that Rado auto gearshift knob you got... got details of where you got it from... how easy was it to fit? Saw them at billing for £80 or something but I've lost all the contact details!

Actually that's a point! how many people have got these?!?! is it actually any good?

well.. as good as a gearknob could be! smile.gif

I got my Razo Gearshifter from RSX Ltd, their email is info@rsxonline.co.uk. Very easy to fit, 30 minutes and a few screws, connectors and a hacksaw.

How good is MAC's knob well its so good loads of us played with his and bought one of your own that we could stroke, LOL. Good looking but not that well made or designed. The overdrive button is recessed too deep and being on the top I catch it occassionally, the disengage button is poorly designed too but damn it looks great so who cares.

Yeah John is right! LOL biggrin.gif

We all had a good go with Macs glistening knob first and it felt so good to the touch that loads of us craved the same size knob.

My stock knob was a bit bulbous and rough to the touch whereas Maccas knob was smooth and more proportionate in every way.

Mrs T likes Macs knob aswell, so she was pleased and more than satisfied when I got my knob the same as Macs. wink.gif

I had no problems getting hold of my knob.

I slipped it in whilst in my Z last week.

Went in very smoothly!

I found you have to adjust the rubber sheath to suit your length but once you've got it on you can shove it through the box as fast as you like! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Yes but what is the knob for?

The University of Oxford spend £25,000 and three months research to conclude that it was to satisfy the man during the sexual act.

University of Cambridge spent £250,000 and a year to conclude that it was to satisfy the woman during the sexual act.

University of Surrey (hooray!) spent £2.50 and 2 minutes to discover it was to stop your hand slipping off the end.

LMFAO

So is it true that they are all w a n k e r s at the University of Surrey?!?!

Good job none of them got confused about the survey, spent £80 and concluded that it was used for selecting the right state for your transmission smile.gif

Dare I ask what the hacksaw was used for to fit it?!

Well, we had to fill in the time between the bar shutting and the bar opening somehow - and the girlfriend had to get some sleep sometime biggrin.gif

You don't need a hacksaw - just a screwdriver and a stanley knife.

The kit comes with a plastic/rubber cover that goes over the gear stick and has to be trimmed to the correct length because the shifter fits various cars.

Tip - it's the middle mounting screw hole on the handle you need to use.

The overdrive switch just connects to the old overdrive wires that you have to cut to take out the original shift knob. It's best to solder these wires together as nearly everyone who has used the crap crimp connectors that come with it has had problems with em coming loose.

You need to remove the centre console trim and the plastic plate that has the gear markings on to do it.

Cheers chris,

will probably wait now until I can order the chrome centre console trim from luke and then do the lot in one go... argh so much to do, so little time/cash!
