well it finaly happend! I had a major crash and the 300 is no more. or at least I think it is! Just waiting the ins company to pick it up now should be here in the next 30 mins and only had the crash last night :o impressed with the service so far thought they would fart about getting an assessor to look at it.

Whats the going rate for a 92 TT at the mo? want to make sure they dont try and rip me off!

As for pics, see below! and as for what happend, well the back end broke away and i applied opisit lock, and cought it, then she whiped the other way, cought that and over cooked it and spun her 180 in the middle of the M25 in rushhour into a artic in lane 1 with the second axel of the artic driving over the front and then the back of the zed slaming into the same wheel on the artic

looking at it, id say it would probably still drive okay? Is there much bent steering/suspension wise?

Yep still drives :) i drove it off the motorway :)

Scary thing is I nearly did the same last night, 450hp on low tread in the wet is not good. And yes it was the kick down that nearly caught me out.

Glad you're ok though, think i'd have wet myself seeing a lorry driving over the front of my car.

I think it's almost garentee'd they will write it off. But if it's repairable you could buy it back and fix it up. Just depends on wether there is any chasis damage, looking at the rear i'd buy another. Also bear in mind if they write it off and you buy it back. It'll not be easy to sell on in the future, it'll show up as a cat d or c write off.

just my 2 pence worth.

Scott

Crikey Matt! It's been a while since we've spoken (funnily enough was going to email last night about the website as it's finally ready to go on-line...but nodded off before I did!) but blimey, I'm glad you walked out of that one ok...the thought of any accident involving lorries always fills me with dread tbh. :(

At the end of the day, cars can be replaced...you can't. Just really glad you're still in one piece chap...and that I'm not changing one of the "thank you's" in the album notes to a post-humous one! :)

Leigh.

Sorry to hear this Matt.

Seems like you were forever fixing it, shame that it has ended this way.

Good to hear you are ok though, let us know how it turns out with the insurance company.

TBH she was as good as gold now, all working :( rover snaped the cam belt so had to use the wifes corsa and the clutch and engine went pop on that 2 days before i was off for the wedding so was using 300 for just this week to get me by as usually the misses drives it. and this happens lol anying as i had just got it all working perfect. :(

Crikey mate, they're a nightmare to drive in greasy conditions and twice i've been caught out and they've let slip sideways.

Glad you're okay though buddy and as leigh says, better the car than the driver :D

when mine got wrote off a year ago i fought it out to get an independant company to value mine they valued it as 4900 mine is a 94 tt might be woth trying to get this, the company never even came to see the car just called took details on the car and its history and that then sent the price to the insurer, hope you get a good price for it.

hi mate wow luck was on your side. . . Glad your not hurt. . . I agree with the guys you could fix that can you buy it off them

think yourself lucky m8

im a lorry driver, and your lucky to be alive..

Yep shes an auto! but she didnt kick down. was in the same gear all the way till the bang and hitting the second axle of the tractor unit. the bloke said i was bloody lucky as he had only just lowered it minutes before as he had a heavy load. said if it had been up she would have got hooked up and pulled under.

Just what you want to hear after yo have just had a smash:nono:

Gald you ok :)

Glad you are ok! Im sure you can just replace a few panels she will be ok? It doesn't look like you did any major damage... The back will be a pain in the ass to sort, but repair her, dont break her  300's are getting less and less

Too right mate - be bloody careful, as this incident shows. These cars will light up the rears in the dry very easily. In the wet, they'll let go before you know it! Great fun when you expect it, not so fun when you dont ;)

shame about the zed,,,, but Glad your ok mate, .. Zed has seemed to have coped well,

hope your tyres had enough tread on them!!!

I had a similiar incident last year my v8 xjr just aquaplanned and was virtually ripped in half by the side barrier, the car spun around on the dual carriageway luckily no one hit me,, still cant explain it to this day, it had traction as well,,, i didnt floor it, was just gradually turning into the right lane,, and it just went.... 370bhp... wet conditions, tyres tread was not excellent..

Officer on scene said I should by a lottery ticket... apparently the tyres on the rear were completly worn out,,, thats what you get for leaving your car with your mates for a couple weeks... i didnt even check ,,,

my seat was the only one that survived,,,, i had to crawl out from the rear windscreen.

The sidebarrier took out all the other seats.... Scary thing is I had just dropped my girlfriend off at the airport, thank god no one else was in the car..

moments like that... just make you realise how vunerible we are in cars.

The side barrier ripped through the back and took the seats out and was sticking out of the engine.... and i used to think jags were pretty solid,..

Wide arch kit, viper wings, 99 spec front bumper and you will have your zed back in no time!

Thought that myself!! :) time for a wide arch conversion:nelson: Glad your ok though Matey;)

Looks nasty. Recently done the same damage you have at the front, to the front of mine.

Glad your OK buddy
