ive tried to find places that will do some power mods on my Z, ie intake chip, decat, boost jets.

but ive not found many other than Ztech

Has anyone on the site used them and are they any good,or even does anyone know of anywhere else to try, that perhaps has previously modded their car.

They rebuilt my engine and upgraded to about 450bhp, highly recommend. Tell Chris @ ztech i told you that ;)

You're right, there isn't anybody in east anglia who will touch a Z or any one i'd trust for that matter.

He's a good 2.5 to 3 hour drive for you, He's in swindon but just off the M4. i'm in St Neots cambs and took me 2 hours to get home but i was running it in at that point.

If it helps he knows a guy who has a trailer who can come pick it up, cost me pickup from cambridge ( dead engine so had to ) to ztech for £150 i think, then i went down on train to collect for £20. I suggest you book it in as when i was there, there were about 12 to 15 Z's waiting to be worked on.

again thanks scott. 450bhp wow, will definatly need to meet you sometime.

I can provide you with:

Intake = A'PEXi induction kit: £65.00

Chip = DTA Performance Chip: £65.00

Exhaust = Mongoose cat-back system: £550.00

Decat Pipes: £225.00

Boost Jets are just MIG welding tips (1.0 to 1.2mm apertures) and can easily be fitted by yourself. However, given that they can cause boost spikes under certain conditions I would HIGHLY recommend you get an electronic boost controller like an A'PEXi AVCR or Blitz SBC-ID or GReddy Profec-B.

If you need any further info please feel free to contact me (07044 016586).

Regards,

Dan

DTA whats the performance increase of these chips rated at, if i were to initially get just induction and a chip....

How much bhp you'll gain is completely dependent on a lot of factors. Ie, supporting modifications, state of tune of the engine, petrol used, etc, etc, etc.

What is more important is the increase in driveablity due to a higher level of torque available earlier on in the rev range. We've had a few competition ZX's use our chips (both NA and TT's) and they recorded some very impressive 1/4 mile times and accelleration figures. To date we've sold quite a lot of our chips and everyone has been very impressed and pleased with the result.

I can't really say whether our chips give you 30 or 60bhp more - it really does depend on the car.

My suggestion for you would be to go for the A'PEXi induction kit, DTA performance chip and a boost controller. See how you go with that and then start looking into further modifications.

Regards,

Dan
