Hi Guys.

How much dash do I have to dismantle to fit my LED dash bulbs that have just arrived ?? One member says he did it in 10mins. :confused: Is it necessary to remove the pods ?

Yes the pods have to come off. The whole job is a pain in the neck the first time but when you have done it once the next time it will come a lot easier. It seems very daunting but it isnt all that bad really. Just remember what screws go where.

It feels like your digging yourself into a ditch at first but rest assured its a pretty simple job really :)

Thanks Vini and Issac,I'll give it a go tomorrow. Cant understand how the guy I mentioned before did it in 10 mins, sounded as if he got his hand down the back cos he mentioned dropping one bulb and struggling to get it back out.

Maz there are 2 screws that retain the oval shaped cover if you take that off you might be able to get a skinny hand down there but I lost a bulb down there and had no chance with my fat hands. But honestly mate take the lot out it will prove so much easier in the end. :D

It defieately ain't a 10 minute job Maz, but you'll get there mate :)

This link should help, it has pics also and although its for a left hand drive car, its the same system of removal. Also dont forget to remove the 4 little bulbs at the bottom of the dash, which act as a sort of front wash.

Just one more bit of advice, before you pull the clocks out, do it slowly as there are electrical connections either side of the clocks. and the use of a magnetic screwdriver is helpful, as ive lost many screws into the abyss behind the dash, some fall out and hit the footwell carpet, some dont

put it this way you can change the bulbs with just the hood cover off.!! i have done it.

 

if you ever take the dah cluster out always leave out the bottom two screws then if anything ever goes wrong you can even remove the dash cluster without removing the pods. i know cos i have done it twice today LOL

Quick update fellas :D Changed them in 5mins.:hyper: When I've got a bit more time will dismantle properly so I can take the green bulbs at the bottom out, (cheers Graham). For now looks so much better than before:dance:
