August 29, 200817 yr First time ever - the Zed started to let me know it wasn't happy. Local trip - engine coughs and misfires like it's gasping for breath. Changes gear a bit erratic due to engine revs see-sawing. Had a brainwave. Stopped. Opened the filler cap and a huge rush of air into the tank. Started up no problems. Now the tank was just under half full - and I always get a small suction on fill up days. Here's the question - is there si=upposed to be a vacuum in the tank at all? Is my filler cap supposed to breath? thanks ps guess is the tank was at such a vacuum inside the pump wasn't able to pull fuel through - an offers?
