A chipped ECU, air intake, exhaust upgrade and a boost controller will give you more power, and its the first thing most people do to a zed to get more power (including myself). However i don't think you'll quite get to the 400bhp mark, probably more like 350bhp. I could be wrong i'm no expert but thats my 2p worth, lol.

Also bud the max you want to set the boost controller to is 14psi on a stock engine and turbos, as after that point the turbos are not working as they should. I personally am having mine set to 13psi to keep my my engine going aslong as possible without wearing it out. I believe its a good compromise between speed and reliability.

HTH :)

If I'm honest it's a bit like licking your finger and putting it in the air.

A new standard engine will handle 400bhp no probs.

A knackered engine will hit 400bhp and then break.

I've always been a believer in the fact that you should get your engine strong before you put more power on it.

An old bookshelf attached to hollow walls will only hold so many books before it breaks.

My advise would be to do a compression test first. This will tell you the condition of your piston rings and show up and valve, head gasket problems.

Also good to do a boost leak test.

Some people will think this is over the top but then that's everyone to thier own. A large majority of people pile on the power without checking the condition of thier engine. Some don't have any problems, others have nothing but problems.

If you have loads of time and money then just go ahead and fix things as they break.

If you don't have loads of time and money, you should be a little more careful.

Ahh you have been reading the confucious guid to philosophy and turbo tuning!:rofl:

I like it, was thinking something very similar;)

And in resonse to your other question, HICAS is Nissan's 4-wheel steering system. It's either hydraulic (on earlier Zeds) or electronically controlled (from '94 onwards I think). It's often disabled using a HICAS eliminator bar cos it tends to stop working... like on mine...

I agree 350 max. As for Hicas, fit a bar and do away with it. Still have my electronic system. Wont work. You can get advice from lots off people. but at the end of the day. Still wont work.

Fitting i'm not 100% sure off, a normal garage might be able to do it, i was going to get a normal garage to do it!

As for where from, it just so happens i'm selling mine as i'm skint. Its a powertrix one, i think they sell for about £100, i'm selling mine for £50 plus £6 p+p but you could collect if its easier :)
