Hey peeps. Noticed this evening when Athene was moving car this evening that there was like a squeaking noise which she said was from the clutch. The clutch does'nt feel any different and not slipping, goes into gear fine.

 

The noise just sounds like a big rusty spring being stretched. It happens both when pressing clutch in and releasing it.

 

Any help and advice would be appreciated as i'm crapping myself thinking its something big and expensive ie we need new clutch or something !!! and it may be nothing to worry about.

Just actually thought, its more of a creaking noise!

I don't know what it is, however IF it is in need of a clutch, its not as bad as you might think. I had a clutch done in a saxo not long back by Mr Clutch, i believe it is a franchise type thing, with places around the UK. And i priced up a zed out of curiousity and IIRC it was about £350. Which to me don't sound bad :D

Thanks, £350 aint too bad i suppose. Would like to know what the noise is though. My dad would prob have an iea but hes orking for about the next month solid, sundays and all !! I Try and lean bits where i can but i' not he most mechanically minded person unfortunately !!

Me too bud :( I'm getting there though, i just replaced all four corners of my suspension under the supervision of an experienced mechanic :nana2: If i can do stuff like that there's hope for everyone :wack: :rofl:

 

Seriously though, sorry i can't help more, i'm sure it will be something and nothing. However at least you don't have to fear a huge bill if it is something slightly more serious. :)

I very much doubt it will need replacing :D But like i said at least if it does you don't need to worry its going to take you for all your worth! :D :rofl:

Just a thought. What would happen if the clutch fluid was low? And where do you top it up?

Not too sure if there is a clutch cable on this car being a hydrolic clutch. Found the brob though. Was just a bit of rust on the rod going into the slave cylinder. Lubricated that and not a sound now. Also bled clutch as the fluid was filthy !!

Thanks buddy. Was the kinda result i was hoping for. Really did'nt need anything more serious after the type of week we've had!
