NZR - USA bashing

Ok, yanks have their faults. They can be arrogant, bullish and stupid, but they have a lot of good points - democracy, no class sytem, equality among races (except Alabama!), belief in sky's the limit, creative thinking, open to new things, Hollywood, Chevy Corvettes, MacDonalds...oh s**t, not that !!!

But you get the picture..it's easy for us to pull them to bits. As a nation they have developed more in the last century than anyone. Compared to Arabs and the like, thay are OK. They are no worse than UK people in my opinion, and better in some respects.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Why they think they are the worlds police service though?

and i am in the Royal Navy.....

More then half their nation never been outside states anyway???

They are a very advanced and rich country, so they feel they should fight for justice although this does tend to only happen when their interests are threatened. Any country with their wealth would do the same in my opinion. They should learn humility tho' !!

Ther are twice as many psychopaths in USA than in UK..whether that's just down to diagnosis I don't know !!

They do sell petrol for $1.50 a gallon which i could get used to.

Yeah and they don't give two fvcks about how much of it they burn and the effect it has on the rest of the world either.

George Bush is a c*nt.

Jezz, Agreed - I have never seen so much wastage of all sorts in a country. (we do drive 3.0L).

George Bush - American psycho.

My brother has lived in the USA for about 10 years now and my little bro is a teacher and in the summer hols goes out there and teaches football or soccer as they call it and now is thinking of moving out there for good , there must be something out there what attracts people ,

its cheap and theres lots of everything never any shortages a 4 bed detached house where i live can cost around 180.000 to well unknown amounts the same out in the usa of the same standards around about 80k well theres enough for me lads, cars cheaper food cheaper less tax great clubs and pubs, wider roads smile.gif meaning faster driving :P the only bad point i see is theres very very few companies out there which give more than about 2 weeks holiday a year if you are lucky

thats my opinions :P chris

I dont trust a country where 200 years ago grown where running around in hats shooting eachother from 10 paces. I mean come on. I stopped doing that when I was 5 biggrin.gif

Stuart

Its the "americans" interpretation of justice that concerns me...they seem to expect all other countries to accept their version and any other versions is inherrently "wrong"......??????

They do do some good....but appears not as cut and dried as first thought....

Gulf war.......etc...and.....todays climate.......all to with OIL!!!!......and not justice...

My penny is now......

This is laughable.

All the time everyone questions the United States - well fair enough.. I agree there is alot wrong with that country and the way it conducts itself on the world stage.

But how come nobody questions China (Tibet), Russia (Chechnya), Turkey (Human Rights), Columbia (children murdered in the street) etc etc.

A little balance would be nice if you really need to discuss this wink.gif

Beacuse Glen these countries don't think they are the best (or not overtly) and try to impose themselves onto the rest of the world do they? Most of their 'issues' are domestic.

LOL, then if America doens't like it (or is bored) it goes and kills a load of the local civilians and a few baddies. Better still they get the rest of the UN countries to fight for them, hence killing their native civilians too. Excellent; NOT.

And our dumbass PM is right there with puppet master Bush, makes me really proud to be British. Yeah right. rolleyes.gif

So which building in London gets hit on the anniversary of 9/11 then hey?

Ooops went off on one there a bit innit. o

I blame that bloody German, George IV, for losing the colonies in the first place.

No country is perfect, just some are less perfect than others.

Now that there is no other superpower it sometimes looks as if the Bush administration couldn't give two hoots about world opinion - or even some of the structures which the US itself helped setup. Things like the International Criminal Court (for everyone except they can't prosecute US citizens), the UN, Kyoto protocols, free trade (eg no-one can subsidise their industries except for Boeing (not Airbus) farming, steel and so on). Etc.

So it doesn't exactly help people to love them.

Leaving aside whether they're right or wrong, they haven't yet worked out that their PR machine isn't working very well this side of the pond and even worse further East.

Well, I'm off to install solar panels and an electic motor in my Z, renew my CND subscription and check out immigration status for Tristan da Cunha....

The USA have God on their side ! ;-)

Seriously though, if they were a fundamentally BAD nation, then I would be very worried, but as they are better than most, I'm not. Their refusal to make envirinmental improvements is stupid as more efficient use of resources actually SAVES MONEY as well as helping the environment.

My belief about the environment, is that there are simply too many people !!

I believe more should be done to reduce the number of children people have, like in China, as while some will say what about human rights, we will have no quality of life if populations continue to increase.

Also, we would have no 300ZX's if it wasn't for the US people buying loads of them ! The car was primarily designed for an American market.

Its all well and good saying we need less people. The UK population would be going down if it wasnt for "The immegents" (Moe Szyslak)

Its the 3rd world countries that are causing the population to go up mostly.

As for polution.

2% of the worlds population create 50% of the worlds polution.

That 2% is Amarican population!

But what is annoying people the most is the WHOLE WORLD recognises there is a pollution problem. Europe is doing its best and doing well at cutting down pollution at great cost too.

America refuses to do anything. Surely if they are the most advanced and richest nation in the world, they can afford to invest in less polluting industries and apply some of there technology.

But no they still have to have 5 litre petrol engines as a family car which do feck all to the gallon and have no power.

While the recent Jo'burg bash (sorry, environmental summit) was on, there were many talk-shows, phone-ins etc on just this subject.

One I remember (on R5) featured a particularly strident US female who said something like: yeh, we have 5% of the world's population and create 25% of the world's pollution but we also contribute 25% of the world's economy. If you don't like that, don't buy anything from us.

If we implemented the Kyoto protocols, she went on, our economy would shrink 4% and you wouldn't like that.

Jeez..... what a helpful and co-operative attitude.

I beg your pardon?

Oh come on, Jehovah, everyone knows you don't exist.

No, they all have me on their side, that is why killing is so commonplace.

Look at the websites around at the moment, if I go to one as an outsider then I am a target, if we can't get on because of something as innocuous as cars, chuck oil and trade into it and shit the World should have gone 'FOOOOOOOM' years ago.

God, Budddha whoever, they are spoken of, but mostly ignored.
