I had a Mines Ecu which fried:( so i got my hands on a Standard Jap spec TT one and my engine is running really nice apart from 1. Down on power :( but i will get it mapped soon! 2. LIMITED to 112 :(

As at the end of this month im away through Europe in the Zed and for 1 going through Germany! I need it De-limited for one!

Whats the process im guessing Conzult then change it from 112 - 240??? If so i should be looking at the usual like 40quid for Conzult! Do Nissan Dealerships do them?

Or full Dyno mapping how much is that usually and anywhere anyone can recommend near Bedfordshire (EA)

Many thanks

Munny

Hi Munny, Not sure that you have to delimit from the Ecu, most people buy a delimiter box which is around £20.00 on ebay and fit it to the back of the clocks or the other way is to get some UK clocks.

Paul

There are two ways to go about delimiting a car:

(1) Aftermarket chip in ECU, or

(2) Speedo converter installed behind the clocks.

In the interest of time you are probably best off buying the speedo converter and installing that. I've got those, £55 incl. postage and all I'd need to know is whether your car is a series 1 or series 2 (important as the installation instructions are different).

However, I do have a number of chips available (both DTA and one original JWT). Let me know if any of the above is of interest.

Does fitting UK clocks delimit a Jap ECU?

No, the limiter is in the ECU. You need to replace it (chip it), or fool it (speedo convertor).

hi im new to the site and have 2 probs with my 1990 tt fairlady the 1st is that it sometimes stalls for no reason and the 2nd is that i took car to hpc in horsham to fit a delimiter\mph converter and they are saying they cant fit it as i have nismo 300kph clocks in it is this true or not and if true will i need 2 buy 180kph clocks or uk clocks and will i still have to fit the delimiter to the uk clocks

Hi Andy, I thought that by fitting the UK clock's that it would do both jobs IE,convert to mph and delimit the speed:slap:you have far more knowledge than me about these things so I stand corrected:bow:. So how much would it be for a delimited chip, also is their a mildly tuned chip that will still allow me to use the cats and standard air filter system with the boost at 12psi or would it not be worthwhile.

cheers Paul

Not sure about this. Assuming that your speedo reads correctly on the 300kph dial then I don't see why you can't put the delimiter/converter box it, although it will mean that you then have a 300mph speedo, which may not be quite what you want !!!!!

You stand corrected ! LOL ;)

Details of ECU mods are on my web site :- http://300zx.org.uk/ecu_maps.htm

You could just raise the boost to about 11/12psi on the standard ECU, would need to be careful, use V-Power and listen out for det though. I ran my car like this for at least a year and it was fine.

thaks they said that i need 180kph clocks as the speedo is getting all the wrong readings with these clocks in any idea what the stalling is ive cleaned the throttle bodies and they were filthy

also my auto box doesnt seem to go into top gear and sometimes it doesnt want to change down when u want kickdown

Hi mate

I have a jdm with the 300k clocks and when I put the aem in it the limit was gone. You can fit the converter to the 300k clocks and it will work but you willk only use a quarter of the clock and youll be doing over 100mph. Best thing is grab the 180 clock or a uk clock.

Alos I have had my car rebuilt by SPC and they had been excellent but now they have new owners and they have not been very good so far even threatened not to honour any warranty on the work done to my car!!!! be careful with them!!! :xxx:

Cheers Ron

Hi mate yes mine is the white on. Conzult is a small computer system that will plug into your car under the steering wheel and you can read all the sensor readings and make a number of adjustments.

Hi Andy, so from your reply I don't need a tuned chip to run 12psi, so what would the cost be for delimiting my ecu.

Ahh, yes forgot about that. Delimiting involves replacing the chip, so cost is the same as having a tuned chip - which sounds like what would be the best option for you anyway.
