For anyone interested, following on from my post the other day, directions from M1 and M40.

 

M1 - J13, follow signs for MK/Central MK, over 1st r/about, at 2nd r/about take 2nd exit H8 Standing Way. Stay on this road out of MK, becomes A421, all the way into Buckingham. Over 1st roundabout in Buckingham, at second (should have garage/little chef on left), turn left, then right into Tesco's.

From M40, take J9, left towards Bicester. Over 3 r/abouts (2 big, 1 mini) At 4th, take 2nd exit A4421 signed towards Tingewick/Buckingham. Stay on this road, then A421 Tingewick Bypass (dual carriageway) Into Buckingham until roundabout with Tesco's on your right (Town Centre signposted left, Winslow right) Turn right then right again into Tesco's

If any of this is confusing, email me and I'll try and explain a bit better. AA route planner is crap for these routes, otherwise I would have used that!!

AndrewG - not sure, I think Vijay said the southern lot were only meeting at 10.30, so they'll be there at about 11? I'll speak to Vijay and try and get a better idea.

I'm one of the "southern lot"! - I didn't think a time had been posted though. The site opens from 7am...

David - from Huntingdon, perhaps A14, then A45 to Northampton, onto M1 at j15, head south and off at 13, then as directions above?

Does that allow enough time to avoid the worst of the queing into the circuit and onto our club stand? Who has been before?

yeah, normally. The reason for going this way is that you approach the circuit from the opposite direction to all the M40/M1 traffic - the last 2 years, its taken me all of about 5-10 minutes as opposed to hours to get in - they have to filter you in, otherwise it would cause the road to be completely blocked.

In that case 9 - 9:30 sounds good to me.

Oh, and I think that's 9-9.30 at Tesco's in Buckingham.

dont forget they close entrance to car clubs stands early. as some could not get in last year even with passes i think craig was one. not 100% sure...

I did hear rumours of this last year, but mainly becuase some clubs got a lot of extra cars on their stands becuase they got there earlier, and took spaces designated for other cars/clubs.

 

didnt hear of it at all the year before, and it sounds like they'll be clamping down on it this year too.
