What writing has it got on it? The jap ones tend to have english writing on anyway, same way the lights say on and off and slam panels say L and R, even though they were built in Japan.

Right its says micro-v then a code 4539 something something then it says made in germany?? surely a car giant like nissan wouldnt use german timing belts.

As clarkey said buddy just change it. The only way you would tell is by inspecting it. You must have everything off the front of the engine to read what it says on it so you may as well change it now. Or are you looking at another belt?? There are a few. Can you see it when you look in the engine bay or have you striped the front covers etc off??

The belt you can see while looking at the engine bay i take it thats not the timing belt then??

There are 3 auxillery belts - Aircon, Power steering and Alternator, that you will see by just looking into the engine bay.

The timing belt is behind the cam covers on front of engine. You can just remove the right hand cam cover to be able to see the timing belt.
