going to change my spark plugs next week but which are the best for a standard 92 twin turbo fairlady,and what is the gap setting.All thoughts on this matter welcome.

If your running more than standard boost you want a colder plug like the HKS 40's.

Hi Mark, engine is standard so what I need to know is standard plugs pfr6b-11b which I belive is a cold plug for twin turbos are these the best.

Stick with the recommended NGK's that were specifically designed for the motor and gap them to 1.1 mm for standard boost and reduce it down to 0.7-0.8 mm for higher boost.

I think that might be the road to go down you cant go wrong with the recommended plugs but if anyone knows a better set give me a shout and thanks nzniggles didnt expect a repley from so far away its a small world on the net cheers.

Use the standard NGK's unless you've got big mods. Part is PFR6B-11C, these are pre gapped to 1.1mm (11 at the end of the code). A lot use PFR6B-11B for minor mods, slightly longer shroud/less projection, this is not a UK part and is no longer in production, you'll need to find someone who imports these from a stockpile in Japan or the USA if you want to go that way...It's a bit of a myth that these run colder, they simply afford more protection to the firing end and have a shorter ground electrode (hence less chance of det.) - If they ran colder they would be a '7' ;-)

 

Wouldn't bother with plugs from the 'tuning companies' (Blitz, Apexi, HKS, Greddy etc) they're made by NGK or Denso anyway, you pay extra for the badge...

cheers robh and edk83 for your input it looks like its down to the -11c or -11b plugs I read the -11b is the standered NGK plug but if not available over the counter the -11c will be the plugs I fit thanks for your help new oil plugs and filters for the beast this week end.

It is a small world at times. Your 300zx site is a great resource. It's where I learnt about the plugs :)
