Ive got a GE Profile side by side fridge freezer and its not cooling enough, we recently moved and brought this along with us, unfortunately we forgot to renew our appliance insurance policy when we moved, I know Ive found the manual online before but Im damned if I can find it now, It worked when we first moved for about 3 weeks and since then has just got slowly worse. Is there anything I can do to remedy this myself, any help would be most appreciated. Its a damn good fridge freezer and I dont want the expense of replacing it (Ive seen Z's cheeper than a new one of these!!)

Incedentaly, this is a 'Plumb in' model for ice and water, Ive not got round to plumbing it in surely this shouldnt stop it doing its job??

well as long as the coil aint been puntured and released the freon it will be the thermostat Pete...cant see it being the compresser as they rarely fail being a sealed unit

Its still 'buzzing' so I suspect the compressors ok, Ill have to see if I can find the thermostat and get a new one....just a thought the thermostat isnt likely to sit in the water for the ice/cold water supply is it?, cos as I said not plumbed in, suppose I should plumb it in first
