In the middle of my Battery relocation at the moment, but I want to keep some sort of point in the engine bay that can be used for Jump starting.

Some sort of Terminal block that I can mount in engine that will connect the 2AWG cable from starter motor to my Battery location in the boot. Would need to be shielded/sealed (so it does'nt come in contact with anything that might earth it out and blow my electrics up) but that can be accessed for jump leads.

Ebay did'nt find anything when I typed my description in

Any ideas what it would be called or where I can get it from ?

you could always use a battery isolater switch ( like on rally prepared cars )

mount where required in the engine bay , the isolator switch has an in and an out terminal , cut the cable and put both ends of the cut cable into the out terminal of the switch thereby joining the cable again ...when the switch is in the isolated position the In terminal will be isolated from the car body and electrical supply, when you want to jump start the car turn the isolator switch to on and the in put terminal is then connected to the starter motor / battery cable ....

Have a look at a BMW if you can, pretty sure they have a jump point in the engine bay and battery in the boot.

Vijay

ask MAC1, i'm pretty sure hes done this

its even harder on a vert because if the battery goes flat you cant get in the boot without the key ! and i dont have a key for my boot

Dave, when I relocated my battery to a cage I knocked up in the boot I also put in two terminals that surfaced in the boot itself and went through the floor so they could be accessed from underneath the car (keeping them hidden was important for me just in case...!) in the event that I needed to charge her (I'd de-locked and de-handled everything on my old silver Z). Seem to remember I picked the box+terminals up from maplins for a couple of quid. It's not what you're talking about but thought I'd mention it just in case!
