You guys don't have them (well I hope not anyway!) but maybe your other halves do?? Was watching a programme last night that Jamelia did on Hair Extensions. She was basically on a mission to find out where they came from... (called 'who's hair is it anyway') and omg it made me think twice about hair extensions...
I've never had any, don't see a point in them - if you want long hair, grow it  and I don't know if I could have someone elses hair attached to mine...
The top grade hair extensions (the £2000 kind of hair extensions) came from places like Russia.
The cheaper stuff (like £5 - £40ish or something) came from temples in India where woman sacrificed their hair to the gods and not knowing it was being sold for hair extensions and rubbish dumps! YES rubbish dumps....
There were families in the poorer areas of India who were digging in rubbish dumps for clumps of hair off womans hair brushes to sell on for hair extensions :eek: and to think the (hair extensions) industry is now worth £65m a year in the UK alone.
Alot of talk that hair extensions come from dead people too  ... but no proof - infact in this day and age, it wouldn't suprise me!!
Her inquiries take her on a journey from a nightclub in Essex to Moscow, where a shifty-looking hair dealer explains that he has collectors all over Russia who source hair for him. Despite insisting that the hair comes only from reputable sources, and none of it is taken from the dead, the margin for error seems wide
