If I was to upgrade, it would probbaly be for teh Z1 GT675RS Kit or HKS 2530's , combined with decent manifolds they'll offer decent power without too much lag.

Both are good for 500 + RWHP with supporting modifications.

how longs a piece of string mate, all depends on what you want, do you want a fast road car, a drag car, a track car, a top speed car etc etc

on my list if i was to do it again would be the hks 2530's for a good all round car, the garrett 2860's are a good all rounder, obviously the greddy turbos are very proven if not older technology, gt30's if you want brute power, something like the 530bb's if you want a fast low lag street car

Mike

I went for the JWT 530bb turbos, as I was planning on making a good powerfull, but yet driveable car. Unfortunately, havent got to the final stage of tuning, so the car is off the road and cant comment on overall performance etc. I bought mine from http://www.czp.us and dealt.

Barry

I would recommend the JWT Sport 530BB's (or the similar option from Z1 called GT600R Turbo) as an all around turbos and those are the ones I will get for my Z. They have proven to be reliable and the spool up is just amazing.

People in the US and Canada is making 580 RWHP with almost no lag on the 530BB's, but you have to keep in mind that it's not only about the turbos, but all the supporting mods that will get you to that power goal (MS Manifolds, 3" Expansion Down Pipes, 3" exhaust, etc)...A 10 second car, great power and response for the road course and fun on the street.

Now, if you want to go big, I'll give my vote to the new SZ-EXP90 Turbo Kit from Specialty Z and you get a highway and drag monster...Greg Dupree is running 9.8's @ 150+mph (No NOS) at the strip on his first test runs on hot wheather, so you get the idea.

:hyper::hyper: I have these mods and more getting very excited now

580 rwhp will be on race gas, built motor with cams.

Should still see very healthy numbers here though, especially if you have the 3" downpipes.

i wouldnt get that excited, ive not seen anyone over here make more than 450 bhp on them, its the usual USA BHP BS mate, theres no way unless your running a huge amount of nos and huge cams that the 530bb's will make over 500 rwhp never mind 580 LOL please bear in mind MACs running turbos nearly twice the size as them at full boost only makes about that!! but at least thats geniune ;)

Mike

 Dam...I thought it was abit high.

I think i will be happy when it finaly is finished what ever brake it comes out at.:D

P.s I have JWT 400+ cams if that makes a difference?

great this has really put a spanner in my works, im presently saving to do tubs, but i thought the gt525 would be ok because that would be the largest tub to fit without having to change the downpipes ect , now im even more confused.

ive got garret m24 s

apparently, good for 350bhp each 700+bhp accor

all i got told was they were stage 3 turbos

didnt even know what they were until i stripped the engine this week

Garrett m24 is what all the 300zx standard turbo housings have written on them.

Stage 3 would most likely mean you have larger impellors and 360 bearings in stock Housings. Will make a bit more power than stock but not 350 each Im afraid.

the 16g kit is a very streetable kit and good for 500 rwhp, you just need to add to your kit which will be cheaper

It's doable, but I think I made it sound as the usual power out of those turbos. People making high HP on them, usually have all the supportive mods like cams, built engine, ported heads, etc and obviously running race fuel.

Here's a car making 573 RWHP and the mod list is HUGE, but it still have room for more like changing the downpipes and manifolds for a better option...The MS Manifolds and 3" expansion DP's would make a big difference on the whole powerband...

Anyway, I think you could look for 500+RWHP with the right mods and tune.

SMW1 made 440@15psi with 530s and a running in chip from AndyP, I think approaching 500 should be possible with these and Surrey Rolling Road is an accurate dyno without hyping the bhp if you know what I mean?

yeh but remember that was at the fly, this guy is talking 580 at the wheels!! on 555's LMAO

sorry buddy but you take that car out of the usa to an "accurate" rolling road and it would make 100 rwhp less!! for some reason every car ive seen in the usa makes impossible power!! so i jsut ignor them :smash:

Thanks for that mate,

Really I need to know exactly whaty is missing from my kit and find somewhere or someone who can get me one.

just had another look and from memory you need:

new manifold gaskets - any manifold gaskets ie oem nissan ones

passenger side manifold to wastegate pipe (will dig out a pic) - will need to be custom made

both downpipes - need to be 3 bolt ones, most of the usa sites sell them, smithy could possibly get them?

intake pipework and silicon couplers - should be able to source these easily, i made up my own from an intercooler pipework kit

Lastly you need some braided pipes, these you can get from any hose factors ie staufs etc, if you take a wastegate with you they will make some up, you need one that goes into the bottom of each wastegate and then up to the back of the engine at the top where they need to be joined together and t-pieced to the boost controller, exactly the same as above with the middle of the wastegate, basically one pushes and one pulls the wastegate, on the boost controller solonoid it will have 2 inputs for these but remember to set the boost controller to external wastegate mode :)

I would imagine all this would cost you around £500 ish

I have asked this before but what do yo think i would expect to see BHP wise out of my spec? Ive had many different views:(

i went for a sensible 'budget' option for mine as i didnt want silly power with the price of fuel going the way it is and cant really warrant spending out on the supporting mods right now to join the 500+fwhp club...

got the gt525's which bolt straight on to the oem manifolds and downpipes. for me they are ideal as they give me quite a bit more grunt than stock but arent massively laggy... just my cup of tea!

i made 364fwhp @ 9psi (surrey rolling road) which i was mega chuffed with... with an ebc and 14psi i should be looking at the 450 mark. not gonna do that until iv fitted my brembos though but il be happy with that :D
