Power Transistor Recall

Anyone out there Know if this recall applied to the Japanese spec 300zx (1990 registered).

My local Nissan dealer charged me £300 when mine failed but have since discovered the unit was the subject of a (voluntary?) recall in the US around 94/95.

Tried to get a refund through Nissan GB but they claim they know nothing about it as the recall didn't apply in the UK. As the vehicle is a Japanese import, they suggested I try Nissan in Japan.

Anyone else experienced this and is it worth pursuing?

Cheers

There are a number of faults on the car where it was recalled in the US and Japan and replaced/fixed for free, but, even though the fault was on the UK car, was not recalled here. You may, if you was lucky, get a discount on fixing the problem.

I tried the same route with Nissan UK and they told me the same thing! "We know nothing"
