I have had the engine out of the car. installed the usually rods and so on. (z1 engine kit) and gt600r turbos. I have removed the egr, aiv, carbon canister and prvr and plenum/water bypass.

The car is reaally rough on idle when we started it for the first time. And I mean realy rough. And there is alot of blue/black smoke comming out of the exhaust. The apexi boost controller showed the injector at 90-92 % at idle?? When I tapped the accelerator it dropped to around 60-70%?? Seemed a bit strange to me??

Tried unpluging some of the electric connectors on some of the coils but there is to much noise from axhaust and engine to hear any diffrence.

For some reason I can't connect with the computer with the blazt diagnostic program??

Any pionters on where to start?

Got a new chip from Z1. Same problem. Aux fan went on. Constantly red light from the ECU. Tried some old chips for 370cc. No aux fan. No constant red light. Tried an original ecu, no problems there either. that's two bad chips...:( :( :( :(

From the way you said this, can you confirm you fitted the chip and not z1 ?

if so, no one will take responsibility for their chips if not fitted by them, it is soooo easy to fit it back to front ( depending on type of chip used)

If you had Z1 fit the chip into your ECU, it would have to be tested before shipping it out and you would then know, once ECU is plugged it, it's going to work.

I have to be blunt and say, have the chip supplier also install the chip, it's the only safe way and gaurantee too!

Theres a little half circle cut out on the chips and it must be fitted in the same postion as the half cirle on the board or socket, am i right?

what would happen if it were fitted incorrectly?

It can fry the chip and put the ECU in safety mode, hence the AUX fan and warning lights coming on OR, it can fry a circuit in the actual ECU, the latter i know from experince, lol

haha ok. I havent done that one yet, theres a first time for everything tho.

Ok, bit of progress from me, one of the intercooler pipes was hanging off and there were other smaller leaks around some other IC hoses.

Interestingly I checked the metal vent pipe that the fuel tank breather runs to (the only connection left after bypassing the carbon can), it was blocked solid and leads me to think this may have caused an issue with over pressurising the tank and possibly leading to increased fuel delivery. I've removed the pipe now so it is again venting to atmosphere. It must have been like this for a while but my carbon can had split (bottom had come off) so this was probably venting any excess pressure previously.

Car is running much better but I haven't had chance to drive it yet.

Sounds like you have other issues with your ECU now Trond but might be worth checking the vent as mentioned and IC hoses for your original over fuelling prob.
