This is why you need an aftermarket temp gauge

Featured Replies

Yep I'll second that as you would not believe how much your temperature fluctuates even under normal driving conditions.

Techtom varies between 78-87 degrees C on mine, and when I started to overheat a few weeks back due to the viscous fan going west it was the Techtom that warned me minutes before my dash gauge even started to move!

So I would say this...if your dash gauge even creeps slightly PANIC!!! wink.gif

I think my stock gauge started moving at around 106 degrees C. My Merc had 120 as the maximum temperature so I didn't cack me pants to quickly, heater on full and get moving again to get the airflow through the rad or stop and switch off!

I'm going for Autometer 52mm Boost, Oil Temp and EGT gauges in the lower DIN panel and later a water temp on the A pillar.
