RJG Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Has anybody got any pictures of the inside of a standard ECU and a Chipped ECU?. Mines supposed to be chipped, but I dont think it is. Also, how do these compare to a "diy" chip:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MINES-VX-ROM-ECU-for-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-300-ZX-VG30DETT_W0QQitemZ150271541632QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150271541632&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318 Cheers Quote
Paul Thompson Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 A chipped ecu will just have a different eeprom or eprom fitted, 28 pin device, more than likely in a socket, with a sticker on it Quote
RJG Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 I tried to take some photo's of mine but the batteries are flat. If I'm looking at the right part, Wiring at the top, looking at a chip in the bottom right hand corner, there is a sticker on it with "M105ADM6" ???. Quote

That is a std Nissan chip and is probably a Jap TT Manual of approx 1989. Quote

RJG Posted July 18, 2008 Author Posted July 18, 2008 LOL It might take a while to save up! Anyway, in terms of chipping the ECU, are there different options available depending what mods have been done?. Also, how much does it cost and what sort of power gains can be achieved from a chip with basic exhaust, de-cat, filter and boost controller mods? Cheers Quote
Joely P Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Only if you give me the cash to buy 14.5M of them ! ;) do you take cheque? Quote
syko Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 easy to tell if its chipped it will be a socketed eprom :) Quote
Kaza Steve Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 with a chip , boost increase, decat and filter you should be looking at round another 50 - to 75 bhp i would guess Quote
RJG Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 50 - 75 bhp sounds good to me. Right then, I need to buy a chip and find someone who is a dab hand at soldering, or at least better than me...lol Quote
