13 miles to and then from work....

Boy oh boy...my ar*e is killing me...I forgot how hard and unforgiving bike saddles where....but I've started something in the office now....

Once of my colleagues wants to join me...but he has 10 miles to my house then another 13 from there...loony....

I can see this becoming a regular thing....

The six pack will be back soon....:rofl::rofl::rofl:

But I'll need a rubber ring in order to sit down.

You butt cheeks will get used to it after a while.

I remember when I first started riding a bike again, I felt like I had nappy rash for a whole week.

Woudl it be rude at this point to mention big brother.

You can get a gel filled saddle cover for about £8 - makes a huge difference .....

Sorry for jumpin in but thought I'd just say I cycle 32 miles a day to work and it's the best decision I ever made... still no six pack though!!!!! Think you'll need to be doing sit-ups or crunches to get there! Although I never had a sixpack so theres probably nothing to recover! Keep it up dude!

Oh and it'll get easier on your arse!

Before children, I had no problems doing XC races in the Kona 100Km rides...but man the return to cycling after 2 years...KILLER....

I'll be a regular thing for me this cycling large, and I know it'll get easier....but oooowwww the initial pain is hurtin me....reeeaaallll Bad...

Problem is the more people cycle and don't use either public transport or cars....the government will then tax us for the air we breath....!!! :)

it'll be a regular thing for me this cycling lark... is what I should have typed....bl00dy dyscklexstic fginers :)

I would like to start cycling to work, its about 9 miles to work, I went out last week on the bike (having not really ridden much since I passed my driving test 14 years ago!) only went about 4 miles and my knees felt like jelly, breathing wasn't much better either.

I rode just over 2500 miles last year, 80% of that was off road.

Your arse never gets used to it, trust me! Doesn't hurt as much as when

i started, but you still know when you've been out on yer bike!!

Just keep at it mate, ride at your own pace, don't be afraid to

get off and walk if you need to, we all started somewhere.

I find it easier to do about 3-4 miles at a slow pace to warm up a

bit, before tackling any hills..

Try to find a rhythm of pedalling you are happy with, then use the

gears to keep at that rhythm, when you go up hills, or technical

stuff etc.. I believe it's called 'cadence'.
