Not sure the gearbox out makes much difference. Taking the plenum off is the way to go.

hi andy . i dont wish to actually remove the pipes under the plenum i just want to bypass the system . could i just link the pipes or should i go the brazed up inlet/outlet on the pipes at the back of the engine?

right had a thought and do you recon this would work??

1st pic shows current route for the throttle body water system which i want to bypass without removing plenum and while my gearbox is out!

2nd pic is my proposed route. the two big metal pipes have two small exits each obviously 1 for each side of the plenum. the yellow marks is the ends of the pipes leading under the plenum the red on the 2nd pic is my proposed bypass.

would it work and could anybody see any potential problems with it eg air locks etc.
