Can someone explain to me in completed Duh Duh langauge how I get back online with my 360 ?.

I was with NTL before and I simply plugged a lead form the 360 into the router.

Not gonna be that easy with the SKy Router is it ?

On my Sky Broadband router ( Netgear ) there are three spare ports , identical to the yellow ethernet one . Surely any of them will do the job :D

yep just plug into any of them and it should connect automatically. If you have problems with a decent connection you may have to set up port forwarding, i did. Not too hard to do.

I tried plugging it into all of the ports but it couldn't connect.

I'll read up on port forwarding and see if I can get it sorted.
