Hybrid is just a term, it means a combination of turbo parts assembled by an aftermarket firm to achieve different results from a turbo directly off the shelf!

In a word I very much doubt if they would be the same turbo!

thanks but im still none the wiser, is there a dif between a 525 and the t25 or are they the same, cheers.

The only tubro I can find called GT525 is the Z1 motorsports turbo, which is an upgrade from the stock T25 on 300ZX's

To clarify things further turbos are labelled in groups by the turbo manufacturer, eg Garrett, IHI, mitsubushi, etc, the T25 is a group of one type of turbo with many variations. A good way to think of it, is that Ford make the Mondeo and within that range you will have many different models!

Companies like Z1, Jim wolf then take the turbos and put their individual designs on them, other smaller companies sometimes do this but they can be haphazard and fraught with problems!
