mpg and wife

Hey people,

I'm not a zed owner, I've got a modded mk1 mondeo, but I'm saving for one, furiously

The wife's argument against it includes the following...

1. Insurance - quotes around £1,800 FC, I pay £1200 for the mondeo anyway.

2. Petrol costs - what sort of mpg do TTs and non-T get? I do 40 miles to and from work a day, most of it free flowing A-road.

3. Breakdown costs.

4. I'd attract too many women.

5. I made 4 up.

Theres plenty of good info on insurance on the forum, so could I have some input on the petrol costs?

Cheers

Pete

40 miles a day will probably cost you £35.00 a week at a guess, Breakdown costs will depend on what you buy!

Welcome to the madhouse by the way, prepare to be abused!!

Cheers Bob,

That doesn't sound too bad, pretty similar to mine wink.gif

What size is the tank, mine is about 60litres, costs me a small fortune to fill!

Pete

Think it`s 72litre, sure i`ll be linched if i`m wrong!

Bob is correct 72 litre tank.

But you forgot to add one more argument that will cost you.

You forgot the "Its not fast enough" Syndrome. biggrin.gif

You are only happy with the speed of it for a few months after that you will want to mod wink.gif

Stuart

its a 60 litre tank i believe, ive never got more than 55litres in to her though but i've nevver run out of petrol

But does the "INFE syndrome" end...?

The looks drew me to the 300zx, speed is a bonus.

Simple answer...NOPE!!! LOL biggrin.gif

Most people are happy with the overall looks of the car but I agree with Stu.

Not long before you want that zorst, intake and chip and boost controller and boost gauge and ICE upgrade etc. etc.

Never stops, well hasn't with me anyway! wink.gif

Finding a good one is difficult aswell. Plenty of very cheap Z's out there now but 95 percent are sheds!

The sheds are what worry me, theres loads on the online autotrader around the 5 grand mark, which is pretty affordable. Is it worth waiting til I can pay a couple more grand, or are there dody ones either way?

I'm not bothered about minor probs eg slight bodywork, paintwork, as long as the engine etc is good.

Pete,

Sheds either way you go matey. Where are you?

Try and get one of the guys to go with you or at least when you find one you think is right and you wanna test drive. wink.gif

Trax is our next big meet next Sunday. Might be an idea to come down and meet up with the looney faction. At least that way you'll have a nice day out and get to see plenty of Z's and speak to the owners.

A week on sunday? Where is it?

Sounds great, I'm in Daventry which is near Coventry, Rugby & Northampton and the like.

Saw a nice black Z in Leamington yesterday, a J reg, anyone on here?

Pete

Actually the another running cost is tyres also! about 130quid each corner.

And the UK tank is 72litres. I put in 67litres the other day (without running out) so I know it's bigger.

Trax 2002 at Silverstone Sunday 8th

Have a look in the Events section Pete.

£130 each corner?

You want to try asking my local Kwik Fit (they're the boys to trust...???!!!) cos they wanted £450 EACH for Bridgestone 285/18's LMFAO (which is what I did!)
