You can buy them with a cone that allows you to fit it over the track rod end means that you dont need to get the tracking done

Very easy to do.

The way I do them is:-

Remove the wheel.

Remove the ball joint from the hub end.

Undo any clips holding the gator to the steering rack.

Pull back the gator.

Unscrew the track rod from the rack.

Fit new gator to track rod.

Screw the rod back into the steering rack, using some thread lock.

Refit the clips/cable tie.

Refit the ball joint to the hub.

I've not done one on a Z before but all cars are pretty much the same.

Did mine on both sides earlier in the year. Fairly straight forward as previously mentioned.

Splitting ball joint easy. One side of mine had seized nut on track rod. Eventually had to heat it. If you have to do the same do it very gently as too much heat will crack the track rod. Mark position of track rod or count number of turns as you undo it. (or both)

Genuine gator dead easy to fit. comes with new twist wire.

you'll need a couple of 22mm spanners to remove the track rod end, a bit of an odd ball size but you should have em or someone close by you will
