Mornin peeps..

Since I had the center console out yesterday fixing the headlight problem I decided to run the cables for a sound system. However we still can't find a suitable place to run the power cable through the bulk head!

Where have you lot run your cables? (Pics would be nice if you have any)

I'm gonna take the battery out this morning and see if there's anywhere behind there that I can get to..

Thanks!

Tony

You can go via the wing and up to the battery.

Take the mouldings off the side of the passenger footwell and you should be able to see the route I'm talking about.

I'm at work so don't have any pics here but I think I have some at home. I'll dig around if no one has responded by tonight.

Ah, thanks. We was digging around under the bonnet last night and saw some sort of 'tube' that dissapeared into the wing. No idea what it was but I had an idea there was more behind the wing than I knew about!

If you can't seem to find the angle to get the wire into the engine bay, Jack the car up take off the passenger wheel and arch liner and you'll have a much easier job.

good tip - thanks. sounds like an overkill but I'd rather do that than drill holes in the bulk head. I'm just gonna go down there now so I'll let you know how I get on in a couple of hours

Cheers

Thats how i did mine.....took the wheel and arch liner off, run the cable down through the hole next to the battery, broke into the rubber boot (the one that contains the electric supply to the door!) and run it into the cab that way!

Same place i used, where the ECU wiring comes in through the bulkhead. had to drill a hole for my EBC in the bulkhead though :x:

And thats what I did. Thanks people.

Relatively easy job, just seemed a little complex just to run a power cable. Now i've brought it home to finish off connecting everything up and I've lost a connector for my fuse block :(

now i'm sulking!!

thats how i did mine too except without taking the wheel off

It coulda been done without taking the wheel off but it was easier once the wheel was out of the way

FOUND IT!!

I put it in the boot with the locking wheel nut key for safe keeping.

doh.

wow awsome looking box matey, just a little tip im sure you know though, run the power cable down one side of the car and the phono leads down the other side to stop interference.

yea i know :) phonos have gone along the right hand side of the center console and the power on the left, under the carpet in the middle of the rear seats, under the rear seats and out into the boot
