Hi all,

When I try to activate my alarm, the central locking no longer functions and as a result, the alarm does not activate. It's a Hawk CAT1.

Any ideas what I should be checking, is there a relay or special fuse to check under the steering?

When I try to activate the alarm, the indicator relay activates and the lights flash, however, I also get another single clicking sound from the front of the car, behind the steering wheel - if that helps.

Just thought somebody might know about this, before start clutching at straws?!!

Many thanks, Alex

it could be one of the pin switches thats faulty, IE doors, bonnet or boot if connected. if ones is faulty then most alarms wont arm properly even though the lights may flash. i would try checking those first.

Do you have an information led which shows you problem codes or information that the alarm has been triggered and what by or is that only the cliffords that do that ?

Thanks guys appreciate the quick response.

The led doesn't blink with the fault code now, but it used to blink a certain number of times to indicate what the issue was.

The fuses are all ok.

I'll check and clean all of the switches as suggested though. Everything used to work just great.

Do you know if the central locking has a separate switch, relay or fuse? Japanese manuals are challenging!

Cheers, Alex

does your interior light work? if not its a fuse under the dash as the central locking & interior light are served by the same fuse.

That's a good point, the interior light hasn't been working for a while and even then, sporadically. Thanks, I'll go and have a look.

But I checked all the fuses already and they are ok (to the right of the accel. pedal).

Will post again in a bit...

No, the fuse is fine and so is the interior light. The bulb was a little loose but is now tight and I checked, no change to the alarm. Worth a try though.
