Hello and welcome to the nut house.

You will find lots of advice on this site and there is a buyers guide kicking around somewhere, just do a search.

Good luck with your hunt for a ZX.

Darrell

£1500 will get you an ebay shitter, you may be lucky and score for a goodun, but in my honest opinion you are looking for trouble, you hav to bare in mind that these cars were nearly 40k new and they reflect that price in the second hand car parts market

they are not your run of your mill performace cars, i had a mk3 fiesta RS1800, then i had a modified mk2 golf with a modified 2.8 vr6 engine, i thought that they cost a packet in keeping them on the road

i realised i spend nearly as much in petrol a week as i did in maintenece for the previous cars ive had

£1500 will get you a reasonable NA Auto, maybe a manual if you look hard. I would personally avoid a TT at £1500 unless you have a couple of grand your willing to throw at it.

As already said, be very aware of what your buying, dont expect more than 15mpg out of it and they like to be pampered!

See the buying guide here to help you on your way. http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm

Oh and welcome!

Welcome bud. this is the obvious place to be if you get a 300ZX. I cant add much more to what has been said mate. They are high maintenence but what you get in return should out weigh that. Pounds for power dont come any cheaper I have had mine over 3 years now and hardly drive it but when I do.............:D some members use theirs daily without much bother.

Good luck with your search.

welcome to the club mate. if you can, make sure you have a grand or so available on top for any work that may need doing, especially if you go for a TT. good luck in your search.

If you HAVE to go for a UK model, check, check and check again for rust! If you see it on the outside, it will be worse on the inside were you can't see. ;) :)
