hi guys, im havin problems with my n/a z32 overheating its only started cince ive had the engine swaped but im sure its all plumed in rite. if i keep it under 3000 rpm it runs at the rite temp unless i turn the engine off 4 a short time, like getin fuel, and if opened up it gets hot as well. the only original parts of the system are the thermastat which i think it could be and the pump it may be an air lock but im not sure how to bleeed it to check. if it helps ive got a tt rad, cilicone hoses and an electric fan kit any help would be grate as this is 1 of the last little problems ive gotta sort to get it running spot on , cheers

have a look on the top of the rad, driverside, you should see a bleed cap with a cross in it, unscrew that, and with the car pointing up an incline run the car till its hot, once the water starts coming out of this bleed screw tighten it up and top the water up, that should sort any air locks out, hope this helps and welcome on board mate.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be an airlock. When the water got hot the air expanded etc and gave a false reading on the gauge.

 

The airlocks can be a right git to get rid of.

is it using any water mate? also during idle do you hear a weird glugging noise from below the centre of the engine?

 

 

(ps. no im not on about AIVs ;) )

that reminds me, i must jack the car up when i'm doing the matrix pipes, lol.

thanx guys il give it a try :bow:. dont think thers any noise like that but i have have got a rattle that sounds like a stone stuck in a bake bean tin lol it gets faster with the revs but thats prob another lil problem for me 2 slove lol
