Just noticed a lot of my pics that i've been taking latley have like dots/ blotches in them, like little green dots. What causes this? Is it a prob with camera or corrupt memory card maybe? Not the pc monitor, i know that.

Also, what would you choose out of a Kodak, samsung, olympus or sony digi cam? I have a Samsung now and have never been that impressed with it. Don't like Fuji at all either.

Fufi finepix and Panasonc Lumix are considered great choices.

Might consider panasonic as they're in my price range but the Fuji finepix camera i had before was aweful.

I've just bought a Lumix FZ18 and it seems fantastic - very little distortion through the range of zoom (18x), and plenty of modes/ features to use - although the AI mode is brilliant. The lens is a Leica too, so very very good quality.

And another thing with the Fuji is they take XD cards and i have loads of SD!!

I could'nt be happier with my Fuji S9600. I use a 2GB XD card, but a lot of the fuji's do use SD card as well.

Looks a nice camera but a bit out of my price range at the moment, especially as i dont ever have any luck with things like this and they only ever seem to last me a year max !

anyone knows what causes these green spots in pics though?

Its wiered, they're in the same place in every photo and its something that has'nt always been there as i've been looking back through all my older pics.

Just wondering if its time to get a new camera or if the CD i copied them to was a bit damaged or the memory card corrupt. Dont wanna spend money if i dont have to.

Nope, doesn't look like thats the prob. Why would it be green, it looks more like a fault with digital camear or memory, its kinda like the blotches you get when a dvd is scratched

try taking it to your local camera shop and see if they have any suggestions or if they can have a look for you

Dont think it would be worth it to be honest. Most places dont bother even repairing cheap electronic gadgets. They are disposible items now days!

Thanks for advise though

try joining an amateur photography forum and see if they will give you any advice as they will probally be more likley to be able to help you

ii'm the lazy type. If i cant sort something quickly and simply, i usually don't bother

Hi mate... The Green dots I believe, if they're in the same place all the time, are dead parts (pixels) of the CCD sensor.. it's just like getting a few dead pixels on a new LCD monitor in affect... HTH

And another thing with the Fuji is they take XD cards and i have loads of SD!!

Not all do. Mine doesn't. I have a Fuji Finepix S700. Fantastic camera and it uses SD cards. 7mega pixel and 10x zoom. The video playback is also very good quality.

I make you right mate. My son bought a Canon E0S 400D with hes first months wages after starting to work with me and the pictures are superb. I got my wife a 10MP TECHNIKA point and go from Tesco's for just under £50 and it takes a very good photo.

The green dot is either dust on the sensor or a "stuck or hot pixel". The sensor inside the camera is very difficult to clean, unless done professionally.
