Seriously fecked off with Tiscali now. Aside from cr@p customer service in the past, my speed is now fluctuating between either being grindingly slow or, at very best, below average for my part of the world (3700kb/s for Warwickshire apparently...at best, Tiscali only manage about 2275kb/s and I don't see anything like that  ).

So, I've been scouting around and came across o2's Premium package: up to 16Mb (distance dependant...probably nothing like that in reality  ), unlimited useage, free connection/wireless modem and only a 12 month contract all for £15 a month (less if I have a mobile contract with them...not sure if they do a landline package as I could do with switching that from Tiscali as well else it's back to BT...). Sounds like a damn good deal but does anyone have any experience of them? Are they as good as they sound, after reading a few reviews, on service and speed/reliability?

I hate doing stuff like this as I'm such a Neo-Luddite :(

i'm on 02, got it as i have a contract with them, cost me £7.50 a month, never had any probs with it at all, always seams to run quickly i've only got the 8meg one as i dont really need anything more, free wireless box with 4 extra ethernet cable points 2... a very good box all in all, althought i have the first box they did, i've seen a new one they have so cant comment on tht one. but have the service is great and customer services are vey helpfull, on the 1 occassion i had to call them... they dont do a home phone, but it your after an all in 1 package at the other house im on talk talk, home phone and broadband cost me £15.69 a month, only prob with that is it's not a wireless box and you can only plug in 1 ethernet cable!!

ned any more infor let me know.

Cheers neil, much appreciated. Just spoke to a very arsey woman at Tiscali, requesting my MAC code ready for the change over. Cretins.

Definately going with o2 now. Decided to sign up for their 8Mb package after all, as aside from being overkill for my useage, I'll probably never see 16Mb through my line as it is now (just did a line check!).

trouble is, I'm with Tiscali for my home phone as well so I need to find someone to take that up...not that I know anything about it but I'm half thinking about going back to BT...

BT Would be the logical choice, but that'll cost you about £12 why not go for talk talk, they'll do the land line and broad band for £15.... just a thought.

Well, had a look at the Talk Talk package and, although it's definately good, the capped broadband did make me think twice (it is a big amount but, particularly as i download a lot of audio programs that have sample libraries that runs to the tens of Gigabytes...all freeware of course [ahem...] I thought that maybe unlimited would give me a bit more flexibility if i need it).

So, I'm now on o2 for Broadband and back to BT for my landline calls.

And boy do I feel happier already! Tiscali can shove their "service" up their a*se! :D ;)
