five cylinders

hi all my non turbo 89 300 has gone all lumpy like its on 5 cylinders....this happened a year ago and after a few days cleared itself...so changed the fuel for some decent stuff have gone round the top looking for loose dodgy wireing should i go back to basics and change the plugs...normally i would put the car in but my nissan mate has moved away...any hints would be a real help...thanks rich

being an 89, is it a Z31 or a Z32?

This is Z32 orientated forum so we might not be as helpfull as the z club or similar :)

 

 

If its a Z32 then check all of the coil pack connectors of which there are 6, one on top of each coil on each cylinder. Also check the PTU, which is a small rentagular box thing with a connector on each end located on the cam belt cover on the drivers side.
