Yep the theory works for sure, longest i managed was 30 mins silence till we got where we were going after a 150 blat on a DC. Quite handy really cos the cricket was on and trying to listen.

 

I mate of mine uses it to shut his missus whinging and arguing. My missus don't do that else I would too.

I've found a really good technique, is to put the radio onto a talk radio station like one of these news stations.

 

They initially try to compete with it, but eventually give in.

 

Or if they are giving you an ear bashing and your ears have shut down, here are a couple of replies I use!
