For a week now I've had a metallictapping sound on the top half of the engine.... I was 99% sure it was the hyd tappets after doing a search on here (quite a lot of threads on tapping noises)

I flushed the engine(Forte) changed the oil ..... still a tapping sound at around 2,000 rpm - 3,000 rpm not on tick over... or when giving her full throttle, Put in some Wynes oil treatment tappet stuff.

Now this morning I filled her up and went for a bit of a drive......:hyper: and the tapping has seemed to have stopped....... Could it have been the last load of petrol was "shite" and it was a "Pinking" noise:headvswal

Did it do it when you rev the car at standstill, or only when driving ?

You could still hear it when at a standstill only over 2,000 rpm..... but was much more noticable when the car was driving ..... more so when going up hill or underload.
