Noticed lately, when cold, taking the foot off the accelerator, I can feel a slight hesitation, a very slight jerking sensation, and the other day came up to a junction, foot on the clutch, it reved to 2000rpm then dropped to normal, I have ordered new pcv's for it but could it be down to anything else. All is ok when warm. Can anyne shed any light on this?

Not long bought it, so I havn't, how do you do this? Would the pcv's make a differance?

get the engine warm then whip the 2 pipes off going to the throttle bodies, srpay carb cleaner in there and agitate it with a brush, repeat till clean, catch all the crap in a cloth.

If the throttle body is coked up it wont close properly causing rough running at idle and eratic revs off throttle.

The pcvs normally cause smoke but dont really affect the running much.

Hi people, just thought i'd keep you posted, just been outside cleaning all the conections, found two connections that were worse than all the rest, a lot of green corrosion on the two orange plugs under the plennum cover, turned the car on and hip hip horray run at around 900rpm without a blip, took it for a drive and diddnt hesitate once, thanks to this site and other peoples experiance's, it has been the cheapest fix ive ever had. Thanks guys.

Two orange plugs under the plenum cover? Where abouts are these? Might be worth me checking too as I'm still struggling with the cutting out when pushing the clutch in at speed problem...

All I did was take the cover off the top of the engine which says Nissan v6 3000 on it, their are connectors, mine are orange, what ever connectors you see, pull them apart, and sand the pins with emery bourd, and spray the two sides of the connector with contact cleaner ( I used wd40 ). I will be cleaning the throttle boddie's out this weekend, as I have read on here that this can cause hesitating and cutting out too. I hope this is helpfull, i'm no mechanic at all but reading threads on here, some things I will be able to do myself for once lol.

Great stuff thanks Leigh - I'll have a look. And yes, clean those throttle bodies. Just use brake cleaner and an old toothbrush and keep scrubbing till it runs clear. Just make sure you have plenty of rags underneath to catch all the stuff that comes out - you don't want it all over your belts!

i wonder if its the throttle bodies on mine that need cleaning then but mine plays up when its been running for a while and its warm. the revs go right down for a second and it trys to cut out when you switch from drive to reverse and vice versa.

Dont know much, but only going on what's on here, just clean all the connectors and the throttle boddies and see if that makes any differance, it probably will, mine felt like a different car, I have just been out and cleaned the throttle boddies and the car is now running sweet. Bloody alarm went off though as soon as I reconnected the negative to the battery, and my ear was right next to the alarm next to the battery, bloody thing lol, after you clean them, if its hard to start and is running rough and smokes a bit, dont worry, I think its supposed too as mine did, but it sorted itself out after a few seconds.

im gonna have a try i think. i dont know anything about them but i will attempt it as it might be an easy answer to the problem. thanks leigh......

Was going to clean throttle bodies on mine ive seen brake cleaner and carb cleaner quoted on this post is brake cleaner safe to use inside the thottle bodies.

I dont really no sorry mate, I just used carb cleaner.

The orange connectors you are talking about sound like the injector plugs.

Pain in the ass, I have totally replaced mine.

You can buy them from MJP and solder them on.

It's starting to do it again, I will just buy some new ones like you said
