How many many revolutions of the crank to a full 6cylinder cycle???

One of those silly questions..........i was bored on the motorway and thinking how much air and fuel the Veyron uses on full chat. Got me wondering what the Z used up on full throttle???

So i thought i can't use 3 ltrs of air per rev so how many revs of the crank are there to a full 3l cycle??

:D

That is correct, but .... assuming the turbos are doing something, then there will be more than 3 litres of air drawn in through the filters.

And a two stroke..... well... 2 strokes :D and many more revs, my 100cc kart can do something stupid like 18000 rpm

Yes, if you worked on half a bar boost, it's another 1.5L put into the engine?

1 bar boost would be another 3. So looking at that, it's a 6 litre V6 putting out 400hp :wack: Not very high state of tune :mac1:

haha yes. My mates throttle stuck open flat out and he had to reach back and pull the plug lead off and suffer the HT shocks LOL..... his arm was shaking and twitching for hours after that :smash:

suck, crush (first revolution), bang, blow (second revolution)

Well i thought that but from the start of the first piston dropping it wouldn't be two revolutions until the last piston came to the top would it as its not got a flat crank like the 6 sclinder TVR.......Or am i missing the point, lol

think i done that before but lucky it was only going slow, i had adjusted the throttle to stay open just a touch, (remmeber this is a push start one with no clutch just direct power) When i started pushing the kart to jump in, the kart started and reved up, i had to chase it down the pit lane, lucky i managed to jump in and put my hand over the air box :D oh and those things are RAPID 0-60 2.9 secs or so. grip like sh1t to a blanket too.

another time i remember the pads were low so thought il give it just another couple laps, whoops!! one of the pads springs broke and they jumped out the caliper just before a hairpin, i went straight off into a grass pit lucky it didnt flip. Anyone ever been to the hoddeston kart track? happend on the first hairpin just after that long right hander.

Its 2 crank revolutions for a 4 stroke, no matter what engine configuration :)

No, ONE lol

That would be assuming 100% volumetric efficiency ;)

Theres 2 strokes not one haha you looser haha

I meant strokes not revolutions on that one, theres only one cylinder so would only need to go up down once duh im not that dumb.

2 strokes, ONE crank revolution

Don't try and back out of it now lol. You can get single cylinder 4 strokes too - they will still take 2 crank revolutions for a full cycle. You can also get multicylinder 2 strokes, which will still only need one crank revolution for a full cycle....

ok ive never seen a 2 stroke with more than one cylinder but im sure there is, but not ones ive fiddled with. And i didnt say you couldnt get a single 4 stroke, ive had a few lawn mower singles and i know those crummy karts you raced at z008 were 4 stroke singles you can tell by just hearing them.

Some animation:

4 stroke:

 at the animation!

2 stroke:

And for Jimmy....... An RGV 500!! (GP Racer) Pure sex on a dyno!

Just to add.... These 500cc V4 2 strokes made over 200hp 'back in the day' I think they were about 130kg too so they were a little bit lively :D

f##k my arse gamma's rule bet that's a bitch to keep on the ground when power band kicks in no zed on this planet would even read the number plate on that baby. GP gammas as I recall were capable of 205mph
