hi sharpy,

its a method of polishing your car by use of a handheld machine, it will remove light to medium scratches depending on paintwork/ depth of laquer and give your car a look of glass if done correctly. not sure what the cost of it, as i only did it for bmw at a set price. but anywhere between £15-£35 a panel

Can anyone recommend anyone in/near Nottingham that will do a good job? Obviously I will pay whatever it costs!

if you go on the mr2 owners club on the show and shine section there's a guide how to do it hope that helps you mate

i had a quote at a place in macclesfield to do a whole impreza for £35, so i dont expect it would be much more than that, most paint shops do it to

it will cost more if you want the car flatted then polished, Flatting is basically a 1200-2000 wet & dry sanding to remove scratches and imperfections in the paintwork , this is 1 of the ways to gets it to look like a glass finish.

I do a bit of 'paint restoration' in my spare time, do a lot of

the local authority vehicles before they sell them.

As you can see, it was in a bit of a state! Not been polished for at least 5yrs or so.
