Am I being robbed

Two years ago my local nissan dealer replaced my Water pump on my 1994 SWB 300ZXTT for £370

Today I am getting the same job done on my 91 UK spec Z and Was quoted £750 the only difference being he is also doing the timing belt this time around. Sounds like quite a difference to Me .

Any one know the cost of this job from a maindealer or do they just snatch figures from the air when they see a Z.????

By the sounds of it they are charging you full labour for 2 jobs ie 8 hours for timing belt and 8 hours the water pump (Just an example) but really when you car changing the timeing belt its only about and hour extra for the pump because of most of the work has already been done.

That is shocking! Cam belt changes and pump should be about half that amount unless other jobs are been done also like ancillery belts and and engine service.

Pity you are located across the water I`m sure you could save money having it done elsewhere.

Hiteq in Wigan charged me £175 labour and they changed all belts, water pump, plugs, radiator and pipes then did a compression test!!

PS I quoted those prices in Sterling for you guys. The actual quote for the pump plus belt in euros was 1200 (£768 stg).

Roy that is madness!

The guy I use is very reasonable and really knows what he's doing (unlike Nissan Cork).

I can't see him charging more than 400euro.

Give me a call.

I am on my way in at 12:30 today to have it out with him. If i get no satisfaction i will give you a shout Re: your mechanic.

1200 euro for a pump. Its really made me loose my cool

I think the pump itself is only about £65 squids!
