Took a few pics. So I thought I would share with you.

My Z is a mess but I am slowley making it better. I washed her today, the first time since putting DaveW's spoiler on (Thanks Dave, Looks 100% better now) and Jon's brake light, (Thanks Jon, looks the Biz now!)

I took a few ticks just to keep but I may as well share them with you. I got some but this is with a new camera wink.gif

The, Z, ready to pounce off the drive

Rear view showing the spoiler and light. The old spoiler was soaked and was ripped all along the bottom. I can not stress how much nicer it is with the new one on.

An arty picture.

I polished it. It took me about an hour to get off 3 years of crap. But now that its off, I just wipe it with a cloth and it all comes off.

Hi Dave.

No I didnt paint it again, the colour is slighly different, but you have to look really close to notice and even then its hardly noticable. I polished it a little to try get some of that "orange skin" effect as you called it. I used the harsh Auto Glym Paint Renovator, and it came of with out trying really.

Clarkey, I use Auto Glym or is it Gylm? I dont know wink.gif

dscf0051.jpg

As you can see I have every think they make under the sun. wink.gif

But I feel the more you keep it clean the less you need to do later to make it sparkle. Once a year I have a blitz on it. About 6 hours of Shampoo, dry, tar remover, paint renovator (Harsh, like T-Cut), resin polish (Not harsh polish) Gloss protection (Makes it like glass) and then the glass, tyres, wheels rubber seals etc etc.

Any way.....!!!!!

I wash my car at least once a week. And because I have polished it like that and I wash it often, it always comes out shiny. Next week I will wash and dry it and it will look like that again, with out needing the polish. In 3 months time, providing I get time to wash and dry it every week, it will still look like that after every wash.

Today I washed an polished it with the resin polish, the soft polish, because it hasnt been washed for a few weeks.

My advice is, if any one wants it wink.gif not that any one does, is to wash your car, and if posible dry it too every week. You will find that your car will look like it has been polished every time you wash it.

Clarkey, I know the wall needs attention. That is through years of the wall being hit by the cars being put on the drive. Every one in the family has had an encounter with it, bar me biggrin.gif *touching wood now!* My mums the best who managed to virtually beached the Sierra on the wall. :S Dont ask how.

Cant remember. I know that Halfords do a set in a green bag with loads of the stuff there.

The things I have, have been built up over a while. Its like, get shampoo one week, next week get the polish. Few weeks later get tyre dressing and alloy cleaner, stuff like that.

The shampoo for 1L is £6 I think but it lasts ages, the polishs are about £4-5 each, tyre dressing £4 or so and the alloy cleaner. Costs very little if you buy when you need it. If you got it all at once I think it would cost you about £40.

But thinks like the tar remover I hardly use becuase you have to polish it after to get rid of the huge smudge it makes, but it does get rid of tar very well. The Extra gloss protection I only use after I use the Paint Renovator (T-Cut) Because it puts a layer of protection of it, which has just been ripped off by the Renovator. So things like that you dont really need untill you really go to town on your car.

If I was you I would get

Shampoo,

Super Resin Polish

and

Glass Polish.

Later on when you want more detail, get

Tyre Dressing,

Wheel Cleaner,

and

Bumper Care.

The tyre dressing makes the rims nice and black, but its not like a black paint. Its a spray that soaks into the rubber keeping the wall moist.

The bumper care is for all the rubber trims making them supple, last longer and really black. I also find that after about 10 mins of really slapping it into the T-Top seals, it helps to stop the water getting in. It used to pour in mine and leave the seat wet frown.gif but now I get a drop every now and then, and when that happens I take them off and work more bumper care into it and it stops leaking for a few months then do it again and this time it will last longer untill it starts leaking again. Well it does for me. wink.gif

One other word or wisdom from me.

Always follow the instruction on the bottle. If it says wash/polish in straight strokes, do it that way. If its annoying/tiring/awkward to do it that way, keep with it, other wise you wont get the best out of the product and end up with swirly polish marks and stuff.

thanks for the info, ill go buy myself a treat later then smile.gif. Nice bag of tricks make the car nice.

There are some deep scratches on the drivers door, they can be seen in my rides section, and a big dent too. where could it go to be fixed? and how much ui think it would cost?
